Retired Dogs From Our Crew

Lexi
Lexi was born in December of 2017 and was the first addition to our breeding program. Lexi raised 2 litters for us before it became very obvious that she was not cut out for motherhood. Her incredibly high drive and constant want to play made it impossible for her to be tied down with puppies. At the age of 3.5 we made the difficult decision to spay her. She is the smartest and most outgoing dog I have ever owned. If Lexi can figure out what you're asking of her, she will do it. She is so fun to work with and always willing to please. Lexi is one of a kind for sure.

Nova
Nova was born in December of 2018. Nova is a "fan favorite" of everyone who visits due to her kind, gentle demeanor. She is the babysitter of the group and is the teacher to every new addition we get here at Megans Labradors. She is used with our litters to help socialize the puppies and is always the first to play with our kids - she never lets them out of her sight. We kept a silver female, "Journi", out of her last litter she raised and she is following right in her footsteps of being a gentle soul.

To be apart of our guardianship program you must live within 45 minutes of Ste. Genevieve MO.
What is a guardian home? Guardian families are "gifted" a puppy (or we can even discuss adults) of breeders choice/ breeding quality. Guardians are responsible for the well-being and maintenance of the dog (just as you would be with a family pet). This includes but is not limited to annual exams, vaccines, food, toys, etc. Megans Labradors will genetically health test as well as pay for any breeding related expenses. Guardians must be willing to meet us with the dog for breeding's at breeders discretion and times. Female dogs will remain with you at your home until approximately one week before she is due to whelp (sooner for first time moms). She will then stay with us to whelp her puppies (typically 8-10 weeks). During this time you are welcome to come visit your dog (it is so neat to experience!) Once the puppies are weaned she is welcome to return home with you. Each family will receive $200 per successful litter plus an additional $75 for our females as a "thank you" for your patience while your beloved pet is away. Once your dog has completed the set amount of litters/breeding years within our agreement, we will then pay to have them spay/neutered and he/she will go home with you to continue to enjoy out their life. Please feel free to reach out with any questions/concerns to see if you may fit this program.
